You have many choices of car accident lawyers in New York City, White Plains and throughout the Hudson Valley. You need representation by an experienced, aggressive and proven personal injury attorney; you can depend on The Law Offices of Francis X. Young.
According to a county-by-county study completed by New York State, there were more than 70,000 accidents in New York City, White Plains and the Hudson Valley. The research was broken down by fatal, non-fatal and property damages. Accidents include cars, buses, motorcycles, trucks, taxis and bicycles. Statistically, it’s likely you’ll be involved in one; it’s a discouraging fact. New York roadways are so heavily used that vehicular or pedestrian accidents are bound to happen. When two tons of metal and glass hit your car, or you, the results can be devastating.

When Should You Contact A Car Accident Lawyer in White Plains?
No matter the degree of damage or injury you or your family should contact a lawyer as soon as you can after an accident.
First contact an experienced personal injury law firm and let your lawyer take over. It is important to review your own insurance policy as soon as you can. Believe it or not there are benefits beyond no fault that your own insurance company may be liable for, however, you must send a letter to your insurance company immediately in order to secure that coverage. The no fault application must be submitted within 30 days.
Insurance companies often try to get to you before you hire a lawyer so they can manipulate you or the circumstances. Never give a statement to an insurance company.
Your insurance company is obligated to pay your initial medical expenses and lost wages. However, they will take steps to limit their payout to you.
At The Law Offices of Francis X. Young, we fully understand the various insurance issues you must navigate, including:
supplemental underinsured coverage
excess and concurrent coverage
We will fight the insurance company battle on your behalf, so that you can concentrate on healing. We will hire experts to do accident reconstruction analysis, if necessary. And we will meet with a variety of experts (economists, vocational rehabilitation specialists, etc.) to be sure that you receive fair compensation now and in the future.
Types of Car Accident Cases We Handle
High Speed Collisions
Cell Phone Usage
Drunk Driving Accidents
Side Impact Collisions
Our Past Motor Vehicle Accident Cases
We have represented accidents involving from one car to multi car pile ups. Sometimes the offending car has limited or no insurance. We are able to search for and find SUM insurance coverage in these instances.
In cases where the other car is obviously at fault (rear ender) we move aggressively to make summary judgment motions and get a liability verdict so interest starts running while the damages discovery plays out.
Times Square NYC Car Accident Case
We are presently litigating a Times Square pedestrian knock down and looking to get the entire 2 million dollar policy where the driver of a rented vehicle fled the US during discovery. We engaged in motion practice to secure a partial default against the drivers insurance company alleging that it was the fault of the insurance company and their foot dragging that resulted in their client fleeing.
White Plains Road Rage Claims
We have successfully litigated road rage claims and in the proper setting we can recover not only compensatory damages but also punitive damages.

White Plains Car Accident Law Firm FAQs
What is the first step you should take after a car accident?
Call the police, and paramedics if needed. No phone? Ask anyone who has been involved in the accident, or a witness. You’ll find that people can be very helpful at this time. The police will create a report at the scene. Take pictures; most people carry cell phones equipped with cameras. Snap photos of the automobiles and any injuries (cuts, scrapes bleeding, etc.) you may have sustained. If you can’t do it yourself, ask anyone standing by. We know that you are shaken up and nervous and a bit shocked right now. Pictures are enormously important immediately following a car accident; they authenticate your “at the scene” injuries before you receive any medical attention. You may think that your injuries are minor, but you should still seek medical evaluation. You may “feel OK” immediately following the incident; sometimes effects are not felt for a few hours or a few days. The more quickly you see a doctor, the more likely that a jury will believe your injuries are a result of the accident. This is critical during car accident injury litigation.
Next, get statements from any witnesses at the scene. Ask them to help you gather document names, phone numbers, license plates and insurance info. Write down (or ask someone to write down) details of the accident. Memories fade, you must try and gather this information at the scene or as quickly as you can.
And lastly but promptly, contact your insurance carrier and let them know what has happened. Report the basics: your name, date, location, the other driver’s name, police report information, etc. Do not make any other statements to any insurance company before contacting an attorney.
